I am Brenda Trevino, and I am honored to be running for Wilson County Judge

For years, I’ve had the honor of serving our community as County Auditor, working hard to ensure transparency, fiscal responsibility, and the ethical management of public funds. That experience has given me a clear understanding of how our county operates – and where we can grow stronger. I’m running for County Judge because I believe Wilson County deserves leadership that is guided by faith, grounded in service, and focused on the future. I want to bring steady, principled leadership to Wilson County – leadership that listens, plans, and takes action with integrity.

If elected, I will prioritize investing in infrastructure that serves our residents, supporting the men and women who protect our communities, and encouraging economic growth that respects our rural character and values. Most importantly, I will lead with the same honesty and accountability that I have demonstrated throughout my career in public service as your County Auditor. I’m excited to take this next step and ask for your support, your prayers, and your vote. Together, we can ensure a strong, safe, and thriving Wilson County for generations to come.

My Story

I am a dedicated leader with deep roots in Wilson County, where I have lived and served for over 50 years. Growing up in Stockdale, I have a longstanding commitment to my community, influenced by my family’s legacy of business and the strong value system that has shaped my dedication to Wilson County.

I currently serve as the Wilson County Auditor, an appointed public official position I have held since August 2019, having been reappointed for three terms by the 81st and 218th District Court. In this role, I have demonstrated my commitment to financial transparency and accountability, overseeing the county’s budget of over $30 million andensuring the integrity of financial operations for all county offices. My responsibilities include establishing internal controls to protect county assets and prevent illegal payments, working with the County Judge in preparing comprehensive budgets that allow for clear definition of expenditures, and auditing all areas that manage County funds and property. In my prior work experience, I bring strong leadership experience in both government and nonprofit sectors, along with expertise in business operations, accounting, and finance.

My educational journey began in Stockdale and eventually led me to Poth, where I graduated from high school in 1992. I understand the importance of education in fostering effective leadership. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education with a focus on Professional Leadership from Abilene Christian University. Prior to this, I earned a Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development from the University of the Incarnate Word, and hold a Bachelor of Science in Business and Social Sciences from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am also an active member of the Texas Association of County Auditors’ Planning Committee and a graduate of the Texas Association of Counties Leadership 254 program, a program designed to advance the skills of county officials to enable them to meet the unique challenges of their duties and to enhance their leadership skills and style.

I know what it means to multi-task a career, caring for my family, attending classes, and studying to achieve my professional and educational goals. These achievements are reflective of my dedication to lifelong learning and my ability to apply the knowledge I have gained for the benefit of Wilson County. I am not only a leader in my professional and academic life but also an active participant in various community initiatives. My commitment to service blossomed as I actively participated in local organizations, including serving on the Little League Board and as president of the Parent-Teacher Organization during my daughter's school years. I currently serve as Chairman of the City of Floresville Visitor and Tourism Board, Board member and past president of the Floresville Peanut Festival Association since 2018, past president of the Sacred Heart School Board for seven years and am currently the Pastoral Council President at Sacred Heart Church. My commitment to serving this community is further evidenced by my involvement in theWomen’s Leadership Council for United Way, ACTS Missions Board, and a former CASA volunteer in Wilson County.

In addition to my professional, academic, and community achievements, I am wholeheartedly devoted to my family. My husband, Tim Trevino and I, have shared 16 wonderful years of marriage and are the proud parents of two children. Our daughter, Destiny, is married to Brian Buescher, a corporate attorney specializing in industrial equipment. Destiny owns and operates a successful mental health counseling practice that serves Wilson County residents, with two office locations, including one in downtown Floresville. Our son, Timothy, is a spirited 11-year-old student at Floresville South Elementary and an enthusiastic Little League player. The Trevino household is made complete by three beloved pets: Dutton, our miniature schnauzer, and two playful tomcats, Tux and Peanut.

I have called Wilson County home for more than 50 years. My deep roots in the community give me a unique understanding of its people, culture, and evolving needs. As County Auditor, I work daily with nearly every department in the county—reviewing budgets, overseeing expenditures, and ensuring financial accountability. This hands-on experience provides me with a comprehensive view of how Wilson County operates, from infrastructure and law enforcement to public services and community programs. My role requires constant collaboration with elected officials, department heads, and state agencies, giving me an unmatched grasp of both local priorities and regulatory demands. As I step forward to serve as County Judge, I bring a spirit of service and faith, combined with a strong foundation ineducation, business, and leadership—qualities that position me to lead Wilson County with clarity, competence, and care for all of Wilson County and one that Wilson County deserves.
